Corset Q & A Episode 55: What Are The Emotional & Mental Benefits of Corseting?

Do you have a question about steel boned corsets, waist training or corseting? The answer is probably somewhere in our Corset Q & A series.

What Are The Emotional & Mental Benefits of Corseting?

Did you know that anxiety disorder is the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults aged 18 or older? That’s about 18% of the population! Many people who have anxiety have recorded in our reviews and blogs that corsets provide extra pressure and a feel of “hugging” around the torso. Like swaddling a baby, the corset provides that constant safe comforting feeling. If you research the benefits of corseting, you will often find information regarding the physical benefits of corsetry, which is GREAT! Corsets do help with your posture and creating a natural looking hourglass figure. But a surprising number of people have found emotional/mental benefits from wearing a corset as well! As I mentioned before, corsets can sometimes provide relief for people with anxiety.  And you do not have to tight lace to feel the instant difference in that “burrito wrapping” of your torso.

We hope this Q & A provides you some insight into not just the physical benefits of wearing a corset, but also the commonly overlooked emotional positive outcomes of corseting. Please let us know in the comments if there are any questions that you’d like to see answered in our Corset Q & A series.
