Do you have a questions about steel boned corsets, waist training or corseting? The answer is probably somewhere in our Corset Q & A series.
Do You Need My Height & Weight For Corset Sizing?
We often get questions on our YouTube channel and here on the blog about sizing, and many times people start out by giving us their weight and sometimes their height, but actually, to fit you for a corset at Orchard Corset, we only need your underbust, natural waist, and upper hip measurements. Depending on the style of corset that you are considering, our sizing experts might also want your full bust (if you are looking at an overbust corset) and your sitting torso length (especially for our longline corsets like the CS 426).
Here is a link to our YouTube video about how to measure for a corset.
Although your weight and height obviously influence your measurements, we don’t take height and weight into account at all for corset sizing. I’m sure you know plenty of people that weigh the same but have bodies that are shaped VERY differently, and the same holds true with height. I have a friend that is 5’10” and has such a short torso that she can’t wear our CS 426, but even at 5’5″ it works just fine for me! Your underbust, waist and upper hip will give us the information we need to fit you in a corset that should work for your body shape.
There is no doubt that corset sizing is not as easy as walking into Target and grabbing a size medium off the rack, but THAT is why we have amazing sizing experts available to help you when you’re confused! Please let us know in the comments if there are any questions that you’d like to see answered in our Corset Q & A series.
