Corset Q & A Episode 28: Why Do You Need ALL My Measurements For Corset Sizing?
In our Corset Q & A series we’ll be giving you quick answers to some of the most common questions we get regarding steel boned corsets, waist training and corseting here at Orchard Corset.
Why do we need your underbust, upper hip and torso measurement for corset sizing?
If you’ve ever talked to someone in or Customer Service department or submitted your measurements via our sizing form, you’ll know that we ask for ALL your measurements, underbust, waist, upper hip and torso, before we recommend a style and size that should work best for you. It probably seems like if we know your waist measurement we should be able to size you, but the fact is that since some corsets are MUCH curvier than others we need the underbust and upper hip measurement so that we put you in the correct silhouette level corset. If your hips are significantly bigger than your waist we may want to suggest a CS 426, but if you don’t have much natural curve we might suggest the CS 305 and we would base that decision on your underbust and upper hip measurements. We ask for torso length to help determine if our CS 426, a longline underbust corset, will work for you before we recommend it.
Please let us know in the comments if there are any questions that you’d like to see answered in our Corset Q & A series!

Do you think this would be a good fit for me? Which corset do you recommend? What size?

Hi Felicia, yes the CS 426 short should work for you in a size 28. Good luck with your waist training!
