Corset Q & A Series

Corset Q & A Episode 16: Does wearing a corset affect your ability to get pregnant?

In our Corset Q & A series we’ll be giving you quick answers to some of the most common questions we get regarding steel boned corsets, waist training and corseting here at Orchard Corset.

Can A Corset Affect My Ability To Get Pregnant?

In a word, NO! A corset is not a means of birth control and will have ZERO effect on your ability (or inability) to get pregnant! However if you are pregnant or suspect you are pregnant, its time to take a break from wearing your corset until the baby arrives. After that you may want to try a latex waist cincher for a bit until you are back to your pre-pregnancy size.

Hiya! I'm the Marketing Director here at Orchard Corset, which is pretty much the best place ever to work! (like you hadn't already guessed THAT!) I live in beautiful Washington state with a husband a few animals and some kiddos in the mix. I prefer margaritas (on the rocks with salt) but a mojito will do in a pinch!

Dayna, are you asking if you should start corseting again 6 weeks after you have a baby? There’s no hard and fast rule and we’d certainly suggest starting with a latex waist cincher, not your corset. It took you nine months to put the weight on, be patient with yourself for taking it back off!

We love to hear from you!
