Corset Q & A Episode 29: What’s up with that gap at the top of the corsets on your models?

In our Corset Q & A series we’ll be giving you quick answers to some of the most common questions we get regarding steel boned corsets, waist training and corseting here at Orchard Corset.

Sometimes there is a gap at the top of the model’s corset in your photos. Why don’t the corsets fit the models?

We get this comment a lot on our social media channels, and it seems like a no brainer, right? We have thousands of corsets why don’t we just pick one that fits the model?! This is actually a fantastic opportunity to explain why seasoning your corset makes such a big difference! When we are doing a photo shoot to show off one of our new styles or fabrics, we pull the corset right off the shelf and put it on our model. You may see a gap for several reasons:

  • the corset hasn’t been seasoned
  • the corset may not be the right style for the model (we try to match our models with the corset, but it doesn’t always work out)
  • we don’t fully tighten the corset so it can remain in new condition and be returned to our shelves after the shoot

Hopefully that clears up any concerns you might have had about how our corsets fit in our pictures! Please let us know in the comments if there are any questions that you’d like to see answered in our Corset Q & A series!
