NEW Corset at OC! The CS-301 Wasp Mini Corset

The Perfect Waist “Cincher”

CS-301 wasp waist corsetHello OC Blog Readers! I am thrilled to announce the arrival of a new corset style here at Orchard Corset- CS-301 Wasp Mini Corset.  This too cute corset is so comfortable that it can be worn just about anywhere.

This corset is just 8 inches at the front and back and 7 inches down the sides. It has 12 spiral and flat steel bones, metal grommets and waist tape (all the good stuff you expect from Orchard Corset).  We currently have it available in a variety of colors and sizes from 16-46 (that’s right…16!). Those with really short (under 8 inches) torsos will find this fits similar to the way a 411 or a 305 will fit someone with an average torso length (8-10 inches). If you normally wear a longer corset for waist training, but find at times you need better mobility the 301 is great to keep up your training. For women with average-long torso lengths this corset will only cinch the waist-it will not reach your lower ribs.

I have no problem wearing this corset all day! What I really love about this corset is its versatility-curvy steel-boned waist trainer AND fashion accessory to make any outfit POP! I wore this out last night to a local wine bar and received tons of compliments (and remember, Wenatchee is a small farming community) Long or short, curvy or straight-this corset will work for just about everyone! The CS-301 is the perfect addition to your corset collection…or perhaps the ideal gateway corset :).

I have been with Orchard Corset since June of 2012 and what a journey it has been! I've gone from complete newbie to Marketing Director to Chief Operations Officer and I've learned more about corsets, corseting, shapewear, social media and myself than I would have ever thought possible. I have really enjoyed the journey and we at Orchard Corset are dedicated to providing a wealth of information for new and seasoned corseters alike.

I have a friend who wants to slim down on her waist and size and lose some weight. But wants to know what’s more better for that. A latex waist cincher or corset waist cincher and which from Orchard is the best to get!

    • Amy Lewis

Hi Desiree, a latex waist cincher will only shave an inch or 2 off the waist versus a corset which will cinch you in 4-7 inches, depending on how big you are and how squishy you are. Here’s a blog about cinchers vs corsets that you may find helpful. Neither of those will ‘melt off the weight’ although some people find that wearing a corset suppresses their appetite to some extent making portion control somewhat easier. Here’s our blog on the “Corset Diet“. As far as the best one to get goes, that will be dependent on her measurements, I would suggest that she go to our Corset Sizing page and start by submitting her measurements there.

      Hi Mimi,

The 301 is shorter than the 305-so depending on your torso length it may actually feel less rigid as it is only about 7-8 inches long and the 305 is 10 inches. They have a similar boning and fabric structure.

I got the pink 301 couple of days ago and have started with an hours wear so far. But I’m very fluffy and lots of pooch.. I’m thinking I’m not sure what this’ll be like when it’s seasoned. But it’s my first OC and I’m new to corsetting anyway.. I’ve just ordered a CS345 last night, hopefully that’ll be good for me

I am a short girl 4’11 to be exact. And I was looking for a corset that has a short torso (because I have a short torso and longer legs) and so I have a flat somach and all but i am square and would like to try to achieve the “coke bottle” figure. I also would like to use this corset for when I work out? Would you recommend this corset in cotton? (So I won’t sweat on nice satin) and would cotton be an easier wash in the machine? OR would you recommend another style and fabric? This will be my first corset, please help!

    Thank you,

      Hi Andrea

You cannot “work out” in steel boned corset or throw them in the washing machine-as they have steel boning. For working out I recommend the Vedette 902 (short waisted) and as for waist training the cs-301.

      • Andrea

Oh great, shows I had no idea. And does the waist trainer bring in your waist as well? I was trying to read the difference between the corset and waist trainer… I am looking to purchase one here soon and just wanted to be as informed as possible so I won’t waste my time buying the wrong product.

        Much appreciated!

I normally wear a 38″ in the 345 and 411 I recently ordered the 301 in a 38″ thinking it would fit but it’s too small, should I try a size up?

    • Cheri Dudek

      Hi Melissa,

Hmmm….I would have thought that would work in the same size, but if not then definitely. Check to be sure it is actually a 38 (on very rare occasion a corset is mismarked). One have of the corset at the center waist tape should measure about 19″.

I currently own a CS-411 in a size 26 for the wasp would I size down to a 24? I am starting to waist train and would be wearing the wasp at night while sleeping or during activities that require for freedom than the 411 allows

I have the 426 in a size 24 and i LOVE it for waist training. What size do you recommend if i was to get the 301? Would this be good for waist training?
    I am
    I am 5 6′
    149 lbs
    under bust: 32.5′
    waist: 31′
    Upper hip: 38′

I was just wondering if any “fluffy” girls have tried the wasp corset? I want to try it, but I’m worried about how it would fit on a squishier body. For reference I get the 32 in the CS 426

Not in this style (we have some other mesh out in testing now that all women have enjoyed thus far). I see we have sold a couple of size 40’s..but don’t have any feedback yet on that. We have not had any in that size yet to sell..but should on Friday!

  • Melissa

I love that there are finally shorter corsets. I just wish I had the money to get this because it will be very welcome for me to wear at work since I should be able to move in it better. I wish I could get it now though.

I recently purchased a 411 and own a latex waist cincher. I want to get seriously about my waist training and would like to sleep in a corset. I’ve been able to nap in a waist cincher rather comfortably but I was wondering if the 301 would be good to sleep in. I ordered my 411 in a size 20.

I began my waist training journey towards the end of March. I had a 28″ waist, so I ordered a size 22 in the CS- 301 in satin (which I’ve absolutely LOVED). After consistently training each day for at least 8-10 hours and sometimes sleeping in the corset, I am able to fully close it comfortably. My natural waist without the corset fluctuates between 24.5″ on a great day to 25.5″ after I haven’t worn my corset in 12+ hours.

I think I am ready to order a new corset! I have considered the 411, but I don’t know if the 301 is more suitable for my lifestyle. I’m a teacher who works 50 hours a week and I’m constantly on my feet and moving around. My concern is that the 411 might be too long and make it uncomfortable when I do sit down, however I was wondering if it might be a better corset for waist training since it is double-boned (hope that’s the right term). Does it create a more lasting effect because of the added boning? The 301 has been very comfortable to me, so I’m not sure if I should just get that again or go with the 411 if it has some sort of advantage.

I plan on ordering either the 411 or 301 in cotton, but I’m also not sure which size I should order now. I went down 6 inches from my natural waist for my first corset, but now that I’m 24.5-25.5″ without a corset, should I go down to a 20″ or an 18″? My underbust is 29″ and my upper hip is 35″.

Sorry for the extra long post.

      Hi Ashley,

Great success! I think just a size 20 will be enough (it is surprising what those 2″ can do…and your old corset has added a little as it does give over time). The 411 will not train your waist any better than the 301. Where you might see a difference is in your floating ribs if the 301 doesn’t reach high enough to bring those in. If that does not interest or concern you then stick with the 301 🙂

  • Debbie

I ordered the CS411 in a size 32 and I LOVE it. I thought I’d look into a smaller (height-wise) corset to have a little more range of motion. I’m just afraid that this corset will cause my stomach to stick out of the bottom of this corset though. Any idea how these fit in the stomach on bigger girls?

  • KC Cagle

Just got this mini wasp, and it’s my first OC! It molded so quickly and is so comfortable! Ordering another today. Love it. Thank you so much for a quality product at a price that allows me to buy several!

  • Ms violet

I ordered this yesterday and can’t wait to receive it besides being super excited I’m wondering will we expect to see this in cotton before the summer?? I love my cs411 satin and how it has molded to my body.,fits like a glove….however Im really wanting a cotton one for the summer and the 305 sounds like the perfect length for my short self 🙂

We love to hear from you!
